ABOUT ME

Hi. I am Sandy Park—a proud Berkeley resident, first-generation daughter of immigrant parents, and mother to three kids currently in BUSD elementary and middle schools.

I am running for School Board because I believe deeply in the lifeline of public education—and I have spent the past 25 years living and breathing it.

I’ve worked as a classroom educator and athletics coach, small school administrator and department head, school district central administrator, and as a strategic consultant to school districts across California.

Beyond career experience, I’ve served as a classroom partner (every year!), on the School Site Council (SSC), as the PTA’s Equity Chairperson, as Co-Chair on the district-wide Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), and as Vice Chair of Berkeley’s Peace and Justice Commission— a joint endeavor between the City of Berkeley and BUSD.

Through these lenses—and calling on the unique perspectives of our diverse community—my goal as a School Board Director is to break down silos and build a collaborative, student-first district… together.
